In this article we talk about the live interconnection via the internet between various radio stations that use MB STUDIO.

This article is of interest to the broadcaster that produces the live broadcast.

Whoever needs to receive the program live should use this configuration: AGENDA - Waiting for dtmf or metadata

MB STUDIO will send some special metadata on the internet streaming that will command the connected MB STUDIOs to start or end the live show

There are 3 types of signal:

1) The signal that commands the start of the live, you need to broadcast an object whose properties have the "End split" flag turned on (for example a jingle or a theme song)

2) the signal that temporarily suspends the live broadcast: you need to broadcast an object whose properties have the "Start split" flag turned on  (usually this is the signal that launches local advertising in connected stations). when the commercial break is over, just send signal 1 "End Split" again to return to live.

3) the signal that ends the live broadcast: when you want to end the connection (the receiving stations will not reconnect), you need to broadcast an object in whose properties the flag "Send command NEXT" is turned on

Then:

  • "End splitting" starts the live broadcast on all connected stations
  • "Start splitting" temporarily suspend the live broadcast and each local station sends its own local advertising or local program
  • "Send command NEXT" definitively ends the live broadcast
