I had MB Recaster running and had to restart my Shoutcast server. When the server came back up I noticed that MB Recaster didn't reconnect. I had to go into "Setup" and disable+enable the encoder to have MB Recaster reconnect to the server.
I feel like this is something that should be handled automatically. Is there some hidden setting to reconnect in case of disconnects, or is this simply a limitation of MB Recaster?
MBRecastee always auto reconnect to the server. You can even try to unplug/plug the lan cable and/or switch off/on your router and you ll see that it will reconnect when possible.
In your case maybe it was not disconnected (the server do not closed the cproperly onnection port) or a major timeout is needed for the connection to be closed
