Have you correctly entered the year of publication for each song in your music archive?
Would you like to transmit a audio file associated with the year of the song and all automatically?
Ok here's what you have to do.
First of all record a file for each year, obviously you will start from the oldest year you have in your archive (for example 1960) and you will arrive up to our 2025. It is advisable, for mental order, to make a separate folder in which to put all these files, for example I called it "AnniCanzoni" and then I created files called AnnoCanzone2001.wav, annoCanzone2002.wav, AnnoCanzone2003.wav, etc etc. The important thing is that all the files are called the same way (apart from the year that changes each time)
Well, now that we have the ingredients, let's program the "special effect" in the playlist. Obviously we will insert it only where and when we want.
In practice you have to click on the song whose year you want to announce, and insert "File", then open the folder that contains these announcements...but....be careful not to click on any of those files, but click in the "File Name" box and write the name of the file with the keyboard replacing the year with these codes %sy% (they are wildcards that replace themselves with the "song year" i.e. the year of the following song)
Are you already confused?
But it's simple, for example my files are called SongYear2001, SongYear2002 etc etc then in the box I will write SongYear%sy%.wav
In practice you write exactly the name of one of your files but instead of the year you put %sy%
Let's see if this photo helps you understand:
As you can see, you have to place the call to the year file before each song in your playlist, or just before the song or songs whose year you want to announce.
When the file containing the abbreviation %sy% reaches position N.1 of the broadcast grid, MB STUDIO will check the year of the first song ready after it and then play the file corresponding to the year of the song, all automatically and forever (or at least until you change the playlist)
Questions:
But do I have to program the songs or genres in some particular way to use this function?
Absolutely not, just insert the songs or musical genres you want, this function will be added to your playlist and MB STUDIO will take care of playing the file of the year corresponding to the song that is about to be broadcast
Can I use voice tracks with the files that announce the year?
Sure, when you Insert File you can use Voice Track like any other file, in fact if the file is only vocal I recommend the voice track mode 2 which overlaps exactly on the intro of the song (provided you have set the intros to the songs)
I tried your example but I only get the error "Failed to load"
The reasons could be:
1) MB STUDIO did not find the file of the year corresponding to the year of the song (I told you before to do all the years from 60 to 2004)
2) in the MB STUDIO paths the folder containing the announcement files of the year must be listed
3) in the broadcast playlist you did not have any song ready behind the file
4) you wrote the name of the file wrong when you inserted it in the playlist, pay attention to the syntax please
...but it does not end here....
there is another wildcard character
%sd%
namely "song decade"
this one allows you to announce only the decade of the song..with a voice that says for example "1980!" or "an 80's hit!"
To do this you must also record the decade announcement files which must contain in the name respectively 197x 198x 199x 200x
To stay in tune with the example above, in addition to the files already explained, I will also create the files Song197x.wav Song198x.wav etc etc and in the playlist I will insert the file Song%sd%.wav which MB STUDIO will transform appropriately when it goes on air, because it will check the year of the song that follows and will obtain the decade according to this scheme:
from 1970 to 1979 = 197x
from 1980 to 1989 = 198x
from 1990 to 1999 = 199x
from 2000 to 2009 = 200x
Of course it also works with previous or following decades
And finally let's talk about %ar%
this wildcard will be replaced by the interpreter of the first song ready in the playlist. It is very difficult to implement it because you have to pre-record many files containing the names of all the interpreters in your archive and it can be used for example to announce a song by Vasco Rossi before the commercial....
Example: "stay tuned..soon the music will start again with Vasco Rossi"
that file will play only if the first song ready in the playlist is by Vasco Rossi.
